Every product sold under California's cottage food law must include all of the following on its label:

  2. 2 Registration or permit number
  3. 3 Product name
  4. 4 Date product was made
  5. 5 Ingredients in descending order
  6. 6 Net weight or net volume
  7. 7 Allergen statement
  8. 8 Cottage food statement

Required Cottage Food Statement

California requires the following statement to appear verbatim on every label. Copy this exactly — no paraphrasing.

"Made in a home kitchen. Not inspected by state or local health department."
