Every product sold under Michigan's cottage food law must include all of the following on its label:

  6. 6 Cottage food statement

Required Cottage Food Statement

Michigan requires the following statement to appear verbatim on every label. Copy this exactly — no paraphrasing.

"Made in a home kitchen that has not been inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development."
