Classes & Events: Teaching and Demos

What This Page Does

Grow My Business → Classes & Events lets you host cooking classes, workshops, farm tours, pop-ups and tastings, free or ticketed. Your events appear on your shop and on the Butter & Sage Market events map, so local customers can find them.

Free events work on every plan. Selling tickets is Maker and Bloom.

Tip — Classes aren’t sales of cottage food, so in many states they don’t count toward your cottage food sales cap. Check your own state’s rules.

Creating an Event

Press Create New Event. Five short steps take you through it:

  1. Basics — is it an event or a class, the title, a short description for the cards, the full description, and a cover image. Events with a strong photo sell better.
  2. When — start and end, and whether it repeats weekly, every two weeks or monthly.
  3. Where — in person, online or both. Online links are private and only go to people who registered.
  4. Tickets — free or paid, the ticket price, how many spots, reminder emails (1, 3 or 7 days before) and your cancellation policy.
  5. Review — check the preview, then Publish Event or Save as Draft.

Managing Attendees

Press Attendees next to any event to see who registered, with Export CSV. Tick Email me when someone registers to hear about each one as it happens.

  • Canning and preserving workshop
  • Holiday cookie decorating
  • A farm-to-table dinner starring your products
  • A free market pop-up to bring in foot traffic

Tip — Every event gets its own QR code on the QR Code page. Put it on your flyers.
