What This Page Does
Products is your menu. Everything you sell lives here: add new listings, edit prices and stock, and decide what shoppers can see.
The list shows each product’s stock, price, what has sold and, on Maker and Bloom, the business profit on each one. Stock changes save as you type. Tick several products to change them all at once.
Ask Bea — Say “add a product” and Bea walks you through it one question at a time. On Maker and Bloom she will also write your description for you.
Adding a Product
Press Add product. The editor works down the page in six steps:
- The Basics — the name (be specific: “Wildflower Honey, 12 oz jar” beats “Honey”), your photos, a short description that sits next to your photo, and the full story of how it is made. On Maker and Bloom, the Ask Bea to write it buttons draft both descriptions; tell her the good bits in Anything Bea should know? first.
- What kind of product is this? — pick a card (see below).
- Pricing & Options — your price, or a price for each option. Not sure what to charge? Work out my price takes you to the Pricing Calculator.
- Availability — how many you have, and whether to track stock.
- Getting It to Your Customer — Pickup / local only, or I ship this if you post it.
- Shelf Placement — the categories shoppers browse by. Every product needs at least one.
There is also an Allergens section, and The Fine Print for the optional extras.
Press Save Product. The badge at the top tells you where it stands: LIVE on your shop, or DRAFT — not visible to shoppers yet. Drafts save themselves as you work.
Product Types
- One item, one price — a loaf, a jar, a dozen cookies. The classic.
- Comes in options — sizes, flavors, scents, with one shared price or a price for each. Maker and Bloom.
- Made to order — custom cakes and gift boxes. Shoppers fill out your form and you send a quote. See Custom Orders. Maker and Bloom.
- Digital download — recipe e-books, class videos, printables. The customer gets their download link by email. Maker and Bloom.
- Build-your-own box — a dozen bagels or a jam sampler where the shopper picks what goes in. Bloom.
Tip — Options work along one set at a time: flavors or sizes. If you need two sets at once, open a ticket in Admin Support and we’ll help you set it up.
Editing, Hiding and Removing
- Click any product in the list to open it, make your change and press Save Product.
- Duplicate copies a product as a starting point for a similar one.
- Hiding something for the season? Set it to draft rather than deleting it, so all your setup is still there next year.
- Want your products in a different order on your shop page? Use Store Settings → Arrange Products.
Product Photos That Sell
- Natural window light beats any ring light. Morning or late afternoon is warmest.
- Clean surfaces (a wood board, marble, white linen) look polished without effort.
- Shoot a few angles: overhead, 45° and a close-up of the texture or label.
- Include something for scale, like a hand, a spoon or a jar, so shoppers know the real size.
