Email & Text: Your Customer List, Emails and Texts

What This Page Does

Grow My Business → Email & Text is your own customer list and the tools to reach it. Your list is yours: every plan can collect it and export it.

How People Join

A Stay in the loop! sign-up pops in on your shop page. Shoppers confirm by email, so new sign-ups show as Pending until they click the link, then Active.

Change its heading, wording, pop-in delay and reply-to address under Sign-up widget settings on the Email List tab. You can also ask for a phone number there, for texting.

The Tabs

  • Email List — everyone who signed up, with Export CSV. Every plan.
  • Import — bring the customers you already have. Add one with Add subscriber, or download the template and upload a spreadsheet. You confirm they are your own contacts who agreed to hear from you.
  • Send Message — email your list. Maker and Bloom.
  • Automation — abandoned-cart emails. Bloom.
  • Text Settings and Send Text — texts to people who opted in. Bloom.

Emailing Your List

  1. Open Send Message.
  2. Choose who it goes to: all active subscribers, or people who joined in the last 90 days.
  3. Write a short subject line (under 50 characters gets opened) and your message. Plain and friendly works best.
  4. Optional: Feature a product or Include a coupon.
  5. Press Preview email, then Send to my list.

You can send one email to your list a day, and the unsubscribe link is added for you.

Abandoned Cart Emails (Bloom)

A gentle nudge to a shopper who put your things in their cart and didn’t finish. It is part of Bloom, and it is off until you turn it on:

  1. Open Automation and tick Send abandoned cart emails.
  2. Choose when it goes out: 1, 2, 4 or 24 hours later.
  3. Write the subject and message, and add a coupon if you like.

From then on it runs by itself.

Texting Your Customers (Bloom)

Texts go out through your own Twilio account, so set that up first and buy a Twilio number to send from. A personal cell number won’t work.

  1. Open Text Settings, enter your Twilio details and sending number, and press Save & Connect.
  2. Use Send Test to text yourself.
  3. The Send Text tab appears once you are connected and at least one subscriber has opted in.

Texts can be up to 320 characters, one text blast a day. “Reply STOP to opt out.” is added for you, and Twilio charges its own per-message rate.
