Customers pay at checkout and the money goes to your own Stripe account. We never hold it. Stripe then pays it out to your bank.
Connect Stripe first — Until Stripe is connected, your shop can’t take online orders. Shoppers can still browse, but your shop shows Orders Closed and there are no Add to cart buttons. You’ll see an orange banner on your dashboard until it is done.
You choose how often Stripe pays you. In your Stripe dashboard, set your payout schedule to daily, weekly or monthly, whatever suits the way you run your business.
If you ever refund a customer, the money comes out of your Stripe balance. If there isn’t enough there to cover it, the refund won’t go through. Leaving a small cushion in Stripe, or choosing a less frequent payout schedule, means a refund always works when you need it.
