What Must Appear on Your Label

Every product sold under Idaho's cottage food law must include all of the following on its label:

  1. 1 Product name
  2. 2 Producer name and address
  3. 3 Ingredients in descending order by weight
  4. 4 Net weight or net volume
  5. 5 Allergen statement
  6. 6 Cottage food statement

Required Cottage Food Statement

Idaho requires the following statement to appear verbatim on every label. Copy this exactly — no paraphrasing.

"This product was made in a home kitchen that is not inspected by the state or local health department."

Cottage food producers are explicitly exempt from FDA mandatory nutrition labeling. You may add one voluntarily, but Idaho does not require it. Save that time for baking.
