Batch Scaler: Scaling Recipes Up or Down

What This Page Does

The Batch Scaler takes your base recipe and scales every ingredient quantity up or down to hit your target yield. Making 4× your normal batch for a holiday market? It’s one click. Need a half batch for a trial run? Done. No calculator, no scratch paper, no math errors.

How to Use It

  1. Go to Batch Scaler in your dashboard.
  2. Select the recipe you want to scale (pulled from Kitchen Studio).
  3. Enter your target batch size — for example, if your base recipe makes 12 units and you need 48, enter 48.
  4. The Batch Scaler calculates every ingredient quantity proportionally and shows the full scaled recipe.
  5. Print or export the scaled recipe to take into the kitchen.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Baking tip: Some recipes don’t scale perfectly (especially leavening agents and spices). The Batch Scaler flags ingredients that commonly need adjustment when scaling above 3×.
  • Market prep: Scale your recipe to your market target, then use the shopping list to check what ingredients you need to restock before you start baking.
  • If you don’t have your recipes in Kitchen Studio yet, there’s a manual entry mode where you can type in ingredients and quantities on the fly.
