What This Page Does
Shipping Settings controls how customers can receive your products and what you charge for it — flat rate, free shipping over a minimum, local pickup only, or a combination. This page is what customers see when they reach checkout and choose their delivery method.
Setting Up Local Pickup
- Go to Settings → Shipping.
- Enable Local Pickup and add your pickup location details (general neighborhood is fine — you don’t have to give your home address).
- Set pickup to free or add a nominal fee if you have a specific pickup window.
Setting Up Flat Rate Shipping
- Click Add Shipping Zone and name it (e.g., “United States”).
- Add Flat Rate as a shipping method and enter your rate.
- Optionally add Free Shipping as an additional method with a minimum order amount (e.g., free shipping over $50).
Things to Consider
- Many cottage food products don’t ship well — perishable baked goods, fresh produce. Consider offering local pickup or local delivery only.
- Preserved goods (jams, honey, dried herbs) ship well. USPS Priority Mail Regional Rate boxes are often the most cost-effective.
- If you sell both shippable and non-shippable items, you can set shipping restrictions on individual products in the product editor.
