What This Page Does

Subscription Boxes are the recurring products you sell: a weekly bread box, a monthly jam club, a bi-weekly veggie share. The customer subscribes once and is charged automatically on your schedule. Steady income you can plan your baking around.

Find it at Subscription Boxes, near the top of your sidebar.

Maker and Bloom.

Not this one? — Looking for your own plan with Butter & Sage Market? That is My Plan, at the bottom of your sidebar.

Creating a Box

  1. Press Create Subscription Plan.
  2. Add the name, a photo and the price.
  3. Choose how often it bills: every week, every two weeks, monthly or quarterly.
  4. Pick the pickup days customers can choose, from the days you set on Pickup & Delivery.
  5. Choose whether to charge sales tax on the box.
  6. Save. It appears on your shop page for customers to subscribe.

Changing or Stopping a Box

  • Open the plan and press Edit. Price and schedule changes apply from the next charge; nobody is charged again for the past.
  • Disable stops new sign-ups while existing subscribers carry on. It is almost always kinder than deleting a box people are paying for.

Your Subscribers

The same page lists who is subscribed, their pickup day, their next renewal and their status (Active, Paused, Past Due or Canceled). Customers pause, skip or cancel from their own account, so you don’t have to chase anyone.

When a box is ready, press Mark Ready and the subscriber gets an email saying so.

The Money

Box payments go to your own Stripe account, like every other sale, and the processing fee on each renewal is yours. If you refund a renewal, it comes out of your Stripe balance.
