Cottage Food Law Labeling Requirements
Cottage Food Labeling Requirements in Connecticut
Cottage food labeling requirements in Connecticut — everything that must appear on your label, required cottage food statements, allergen disclosures, font size rules, and privacy options for your home address.
What Must Appear on Your Label
Every product sold under Connecticut's cottage food law must include all of the following on its label:
- 1 Product name
- 2 Producer name and address
- 3 Ingredients in descending order by weight
- 4 Net weight or net volume
- 5 Allergen statement
- 6 Cottage food statement
Required Cottage Food Statement
Connecticut requires the following statement to appear verbatim on every label. Copy this exactly — no paraphrasing.
"Made in a home kitchen not inspected by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection."
Nutrition Facts Panel
Cottage food producers are explicitly exempt from FDA mandatory nutrition labeling. You may add one voluntarily, but Connecticut does not require it. Save that time for baking.
Official Labeling Requirements
Always verify labeling rules directly with your state agency — requirements can change.
