Cottage Food Law Labeling Requirements
Cottage Food Labeling Requirements in Colorado
Cottage food labeling requirements in Colorado — everything that must appear on your label, required cottage food statements, allergen disclosures, font size rules, and privacy options for your home address.
What Must Appear on Your Label
Every product sold under Colorado's cottage food law must include all of the following on its label:
- 1 Producer's name and home address
- 2 Product name
- 3 Ingredients list
- 4 Net weight
- 5 Allergen statement
- 6 Cottage food statement
Required Cottage Food Statement
Colorado requires the following statement to appear verbatim on every label. Copy this exactly — no paraphrasing.
"Homemade food — not inspected by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment."
Nutrition Facts Panel
Cottage food producers are explicitly exempt from FDA mandatory nutrition labeling. You may add one voluntarily, but Colorado does not require it. Save that time for baking.
Official Labeling Requirements
Always verify labeling rules directly with your state agency — requirements can change.
