What Must Appear on Your Label

Every product sold under Maryland's cottage food law must include all of the following on its label:

  2. 2 Producer name and address
  3. 3 Ingredients in descending order by weight
  4. 4 Net weight or net volume
  5. 5 Allergen statement
  6. 6 Cottage food statement

Required Cottage Food Statement

Maryland requires the following statement to appear verbatim on every label. Copy this exactly — no paraphrasing.

"Prepared in a home kitchen not subject to inspections by the Maryland Department of Health."
