Kentucky cottage food vendors are permitted to sell through the following channels:
Online Sales & Shipping
Online orders are allowed but must be fulfilled via in-state pickup or personal delivery by the producer to Kentucky residents. Shipping via mail or common carrier is not authorized under KRS 217.136.

Permit type: Home-Based Processor License (Kentucky Department of Agriculture)
Annual Sales Limits
Cottage food sales in Kentucky cannot exceed this amount in a calendar year.
Acidified & Fermented Foods
Acidified foods include pickles, hot sauces, salsas, fermented vegetables, and other products with a pH at or below 4.6. These are regulated separately in most states.
Business & Production Rules
Sole proprietor only — no employees or assistants permitted, even household members.
Important Notes
Kentucky requires a Home-Based Processor License from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Annual sales cap is $50,000. Kitchen inspection required for licensing. License number must appear on the label. Online sales with in-state delivery are allowed.
